Building 40

I think I wrote this before. I can be found at 40 2-D15 (probably back then it was 40 2-D11.) This is a picture taken from my desk, towards the center of building 40, where people working at ATLAS and CMS (mainly) are. There I am. Second floor.

The view from the second floor is much better than it looks in the picture. But well, I'll try something else later. The weather has been much nicer the last couple of days. I was even able to partially appreciate Mont Blanc today.

Summer is quite busy for people at CERN, with all the visiting students... and this year particularly... if we want to start that "thing" this year, I guess. I was told I'll do some shifts by the end of June, and beginning of July. Basically, I'll be somewhere for about 8 hrs and see that everything works as it should. Of course, since we're not collecting real data yet, this is more like a simulacrum of data selection and stuff. Actually I'm not sure what I'll do in those 8 hours. .. but, I have a twiki page with the instructions, so hopefully I'll know by then.

Honestly, I didn't feel this day was as productive as yesterday, but I still feel kind of tired. I really hope tomorrow is better, 'cause it's quite probable that I'll take a life changing decision... But, hey! it's me... any "life changing" decision can't be any serious... or can it?
